Tour Description

Yearning for excitement? Want to turn your typical family vacation up a notch? Let this be the year you and your family rise to the challenge of a 15.5-mile smooth water float trip through the majestic Glen Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. This incredible journey begins early morning when a state-of-the-art motorcoach arrives at your Grand Canyon hotel to transport you comfortably from the South Rim to Page, Arizona where you will get up close and personal with the mighty Colorado River.

Before hitting the water, each participant will be supplied with a delicious box lunch to be enjoyed at their leisure during the float. These meals typically include a lunch meat and cheese sandwich with vegetable toppings and condiments, chips, cookies, and bottled water. Gluten-free and vegetarian meals are also available with 24 hours notice before departure. With the river beckoning, your family will board a motorized raft, designed to comfortably hold 22 passengers. Riders can straddle the inflated sides of the raft to feel the spray of the Colorado River against their legs. Along the way, your raft will dock on the river bank for a special surprise. Passengers can enjoy a short hike through the canyon floor to find authentic ancient petroglyphs. Your guide can interpret these symbols for you and provide a history of the people who once roamed this region.

Back on the water, the coursing river will provide you with scenic canyon views as it carries you to historic Lee's Ferry. After your raft docks at Lee's Ferry, you will board the waiting motorcoach for your return trip to the Grand Canyon National Park. Your journey back to the South Rim offers views of the Navajo Indian Reservation and includes a brief stop at the Cameron Trading Post along the way.

All guests must be at least 4 years old to enjoy this experience.
