Where outside factors, like government-mandated park entry fees or special accommodations may affect your total, they're disclosed here so there are no surprises waiting for you at the check-in counter.
What Might Affect Your Fare
A few situational factors can influence your final total. Here's what they are:
Additional Seat
Customers of size may require an additional seat to enjoy their flight. All customers are electronically weighed upon check-in to determine seating arrangements that maximize guest comfort and ensure the aircraft is safely balanced within its operating specifications. Should any customer need an additional seat, for their added comfort, one can be arranged before departure.
National Park Fee for International Visitors
The United States Federal Government has instituted additional fees for international visitors who’s tour destination include entry into Grand Canyon National Park. This fee has been implemented since January 1, 2026 and applies to all non-domestic visitors 16 years of age and above. Learn more about visiting American national parks as an international guest.
Fuel Surcharge
You’ve seen the prices of gas rise and fall over the past several years, and that inconsistency in fuel availability affects aircraft too! Some companies hide fuel charges and raise their pricing without their customers ever knowing. At Papillon, we accept those challenges as a normal part of doing business, but when prices spike hard and fast, we have two choices: quietly roll the cost into our base fares permanently; or be upfront with a temporary surcharge that goes away when prices do. We'll always choose the honest option.

Papillon is the oldest Grand Canyon helicopter sightseeing company. After the completion of the TransCanyon Pipeline, our founder discovered that locals and tourists alike were fascinated by the awe-inspiring views only available from the air. He built this company to share the wonder of the Grand Canyon with as many sightseers as possible.
