Most Popular Grand Canyon Tour Locations

The Grand Canyon is one of the world's top ten most popular destinations.  But when you visit, it's hard to see it all from the ground since Grand Canyon National Park is so enormous.

The park itself stretches 1,900 square miles and holds the Colorado River’s 6,000 foot deep, 277-miles long, 18-miles wide Canyon. It’s so huge that if you want to drive from the South Rim to North Rim it is a 4.5 hour drive of 220 miles!

Papillon Helicopters provides the best Grand Canyon helicopter tours available in the region. Onboard a private, sightseeing helicopter, you can take in and photograph all this grandeur!

We offer several different types of tours. Some of them can be found in Las Vegas, while others are located in Boulder City and the Grand Canyon South Rim. Passengers can choose between various routes that take them to various points in and around this area of Arizona's natural wonderland.

The most popular tours depart from Las Vegas and fly into the Canyon's West Rim. The West Rim Tour takes passengers over Hoover Dam and Lake Mead before landing on top of a mountain on the west side of Grand Canyon National Park.

Are Grand Canyon tours worth it?

  • A Grand Canyon tour can be a great experience for anyone. It is a fun way to explore the beauty of nature and it also offers the opportunity to learn about the history of this natural wonder.

Grand Canyon tours are designed for people with varying amounts of time, different interests, and fitness levels. There are many different types of available tours, including day hikes, mule rides, helicopter flights, camping trips, water rafting, off-road adventures and more.

What time of day is best to visit the Grand Canyon?

  • The Grand Canyon is a breathtaking sight to behold no matter what time of day you visit it. However, the best time to visit depends on what matters the most to you.

The golden hour, which is the time shortly following sunrise or before sunset, is ideal for capturing the Grand Canyon's most beautiful colors. This time of day offers the perfect light to take photographs. The redder, softer light ensures that your pictures will be much more aesthetically pleasing than if you had taken them in the morning or in the evening.

If you want to avoid crowds, get started early by watching the sunrise. Afterward, the Visitor Center and many other Grand Canyon National Park facilities are open during the peak months of May-September from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the off-season of October-April.
